Thank you Penguin Teen and NetGalley for the free advanced digital copy.  All thoughts are my own.

One the Pocket Change Collective Series, Imaginary Borders examines how climate change impacts us all, regardless of city limits and borders.  The author uses his art and music to express his distress about our current climate crisis.  One of the aspects that I enjoyed about this book is that while it is short, it provides big ideas from which to build a movement.  "We all have a responsibility to be a part o this redefinition of movement culture," Martinez writes.  Martinez uses anecdotes to show how climate change has impacted his own life, constantly reminding readers that "if we wait for the floodwater to  reach our doorstep, it will be too late."

Thank you Penguin Teen and NetGalley for the free advanced digital copy. All thoughts are my own.

This is What I Know About Art by Kimberly Drew is a part of the Pocket Change Collective Series.  This tiny book is packed with anecdotes and lessons on how to take a passion, like art, and turn it into activism.  Drew reminds her readers that "art and protest will forever be bound together.  And the beautiful thing about art, like activism, is that it allows us space to be curious and learn."  She is humble in her explanation, reiterating that one person can contribute, but it takes a collective to truly start change.

Girl in Snow by Danya Kukafka

It’s early in the morning, and a fresh blanket of snow has just covered a sleepy suburb in Colorado.  All is calm until the body of high school student Lucinda Hayes is found on the playground.  When the popular and beloved girl is found murdered on school grounds, her entire community is shaken to its core.  In the days following Lucinda’s death, we follow the aftermath through the alternating perspectives of three specific people: the boy that loved her from afar, the girl that was jealous of her, and the officer investigating her murder.  Through their collective eyes, we learn more about how Lucinda has forever connected them together.

The narrators are unreliable, the perspective shifts, and the ending hits you out of nowhere.  I have a lot of thoughts on Danya Kukafka’s debut novel, Girl in Snow (out today!), and I’ll tell you all about this chilling novel as you read more.

All the Missing Girls by Megan Miranda

I finished All the Missing Girls nearly two days ago, and I've listened to TWO reviews for it...but I still can't decide how I feel about it.  It's been compared to The Girl on the Train and Luckiest Girl Alive (which I have yet to read), and for good reasons.  The book is a tense read, just how I like my thrillers.  It's got the trifecta of a perfect mystery: more than one missing person, a woman with a past she wants to forget, and a town that doesn't want to forget.  It almost reached "page-turner" status for me, but not quite.

The Cresswell Plot by Eliza Wass

This is one of those books that you just can't put down because it's such a foreign way of life, such a different way of seeing the world, that you find it fascinating. The Cresswells are  a fanatic religious family, and we meet them at point where the children are old enough to start questioning their father's motives while leading his family.
